Equivalence of Enzyme Reactions and Simple and Cascaded Feedback Loops
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper demonstrates the equivalence between simple feedback loops and the biochemical enzyme reactions in confined media that obey Michaelis-Menten kinetics. Single and cascaded reactions are modeled, and general principles to achieve enzyme transfer functions are set out. Reaction rate and concentration difference are identified as the through and across variables of biochemical networks, and it is shown that Kirchhoff’s laws can be applied to these systems. Allosteric inhibition is examined as a way of injecting external signals into the biochemical network. Copyright 2002 IFAC

Introduction: Clinical instruction is known as the essence of education in medical sciences, while feedback delivery is a core responsibility of clinical instructors. This study aims to compare the nursing students' satisfaction and reactions to oral versus written feedback during clinical education. Methods: This is a single blinde, randomized controlled trial. A purposive sample of la...
متن کاملTHD Analysis in Closed-Loop Analog PWM Class-D Amplifiers
In this paper, we investigate the parameters affecting Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) and Power Supply Rejection Ratio (PSRR) in PWM Class D Amplifiers (CDAs) on the basis of linear models with feedback. From our mathematical analysis, we show that the THD of a PWM Class D amplifier with feedback can be improved by increasing the gain of the integrator through adding another amplifier at the o...
متن کاملAdaptive Cascaded Beam-Based Feedback at the SLC*
The SLAC Linear Collider now has a total of twentyfour beam-steering feedback loops used to keep the electron and positron beams on their desired trajectories. Seven of these loops measure and control the same beam as it proceeds down the linac through the arcs to the final focus. Ideally each loop should correct only for disturbances that occur between it and the immediate upstream loop. In fa...
متن کاملIranian EFL Learners’ Reactions to Different Feedbacks in Writing Classrooms: Teacher Written Comments (TWC) vs. Peer Written Comments (PWC)
The teaching of writing has recently begun to move away from a concentration on the written product to an emphasis on the process of writing. Feedback is a fundamental element of the process approach to writing. It can be defined as input from a reader to a writer with the effect of providing information to the writer for a revision. This study reports on the effectiveness of two types of feedb...
متن کاملUltrahigh-Q microwave photonic filter with tunable Q value utilizing cascaded optical-electrical feedback loops.
A microwave photonic filter with the highest reported quality factor (Q) value of 4895.31 is proposed and experimentally demonstrated by using two cascaded infinite impulse response (IIR) filters. Each IIR filter comprises both optical and electronic signals in a feedback loop and thus the loop length can be reduced without the need to consider the light coherence length. The Vernier effect ena...
